Buffalo Outer Harbor Access and Activation Park Design

Buffalo, NY

Project Objective

This project included mechanical and electrical support for the design of a public waterfront park, including nature trails, plaza, event lawn, and bike track.

Unique Project Features

The location selected for the park is former industrial area with legacy utilities abandoned in place and soil contamination issues throughout, to be converted to public space with amenities for large gatherings and events on a regular basis.

Encorus Group Solution

Encorus developed a modular electrical design allowing for the owner to phase the addition of services as budget and public programming dictate. Site electrical and lighting service is designated as core requirements or additional services to be added as appropriate.  Encorus worked in harmony with various third party designers to ensure that structural, environmental, architectural, and landscape elements were properly coordinated into the design.

Encorus developed a plumbing design which took advantage of legacy utilities at the site, maximizing the effectiveness of the owner’s limited budget and allowing for the inclusion of all services desired. Coordination with third party designers was undertaken to ensure a cohesive design.

Specific Project Tasks

  • Engineering analysis to determine plumbing and electrical service requirements
  • Design plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
