Hobby Lobby Design Development

Greenville, TX

Project Objective

Encorus was contracted to provide engineering design services for a new Hobby Lobby store in Greenville, Texas.

Unique Project Features

The new build was a “from the ground up” project. The site’s expansive soils required the design of grade beams bearing on drilled bell bottom piers.

Encorus Group Solution

Encorus provided complete engineering design services for the project, including civil, electrical, fire protection, mechanical, structural, architectural, and drafting. The project was managed remotely from Encorus’s Springville, NY office. Constant communication was the key to this effort, utilizing phone calls, email, teleconference, and electronic file exchange. The design included precast tilt-up wall panels anchored to a grade beam, with a concrete drilled pier foundation. Commercial electrical and lighting were designed, including life safety concerns in the identification for the need of adequate lighting along egress pathways. HVAC, plumbing, and piping designs were also included in the project.
